Why should I hire an interior designer?

When I am interviewing a client to see if we are a good fit, one of the first questions I ask is, “what is your goal for hiring a designer?” This helps me understand what the right service is for you. Our full service design only takes on full rooms that are looking for total make overs. That doesn’t mean you can’t utilize some of your treasures in the room, it just means we are looking at the room as a whole and designing the all aspects of the space from lighting to wall coverings, rugs, accessories, basically all features of the room. It is the absolute best way to design when your goal is to have a unique space that meets all your families needs whether that is storage, durability, dog friendly and of course beautiful. For example, the bathroom above, this client wasn’t sure what direction to go but she knew she needed more storage, she knew what she found aesthetically pleasing but didn’t really know how to communicate her style AND she had space issues that needed addressing. The end result was a perfect space plan with so much storage some of her drawers are actually empty and we brought some color into the space that she didn’t know she wanted until presented with the design.
The Devil is in the Details
Full service design finds ways to elevate a design whether it’s adding wallpaper to the back of a built in cabinet, finding unique hardware, turning mirrors into medicine cabinets or increasing the depth of your countertop. All these things go into making a room feel well thought out and luxurious.
But not everyone needs full service design or has a budget that can support full service design. These services still get you a professional design and we will still think of 100 things you never thought to think about but they are done on a smaller scale. Not every solution will be investigated but we’ll sure get you a good solution for any issues you are having and you’ll still get a gorgeous design.
