Creative Things to Hang on your Walls
I love beautiful art on walls – I mean who doesn’t love an inspirational piece of art that a homeowner has found and invested in? Framed art brings richness to a room unlike anything else. But most of us don’t have the bank account to support one-of-a-kind art throughout our home and that’s okay! There are other ways to add interest and beauty to your walls – I’ve outlined a few of them below.
Framing a silk or vintage scarf is a great way to bring tons of color and interest into a room. It also brings in your personality by utilizing an item you already love. Allison, at KAID loves to purchase scarves on her travels and then frames them. Objects that you already have that are collecting dust in the attic such as club racquets, cool antiques, lassos, head dresses or cowboy hats etc. These 3-D objects add ketch and appeal and most people have things around that they have no idea what to do with but can be incorporated into the design. Take old art that is dark and out of style and bring it to your local art framer. Update the frame and ask them if they know a local artist who updates old paintings.
